The HAJIMARI LOUNGE on the ground floor, a two-storey atrium space in a former warehouse, is the exchange centre with a cafe yuami, a shop and a cassette & book library. The public space of the building, including the lounge, can be used as a gallery and event space, where new culture can be fostered through chance encounters between visitors and local people.

You can experience the pottery class at the Beppu Satellite Studio of HAJIMARI Beppu's hostess, ceramic artist Wakako Sakamoto.
Please ask a staff if you would like to try a class. We also plan to organise workshops by artists living in the neighbourhood, so please check our SNS.
